Why Glacier Psychology Services Specializes in Working with Children and Families

At Glacier Psychology Services, our passion has always been working with children and families. We believe that mental and emotional well-being begins in the home and is strengthened through healthy relationships. When families feel connected, supported, and understood, children are able to thrive.

This belief is at the heart of everything we do.

Families Are the Foundation of Emotional Health

Children do not grow in isolation; they grow within families. The relationships they experience at home shape how they see themselves, how they handle emotions, and how they connect with others throughout their lives. Because of this, our work goes beyond simply helping a child manage a specific challenge. We look at the bigger picture: the family system.

Our therapists help children develop skills for managing emotions, building confidence, and navigating social challenges. At the same time, we support parents in understanding their child’s needs, strengthening communication, and creating a home environment where everyone feels supported.

When families grow together, the impact is powerful and lasting.

A Team That Loves Working with Kids

Working with children and teens requires a unique combination of skill, creativity, patience, and heart. Our team at Glacier Psychology Services is made up of clinicians who are deeply dedicated to supporting young people and their families. We understand that children often express themselves through play, creativity, movement, and connection. Because of this, therapy with children often looks different than traditional talk therapy.

It may include:

  • Board games that teach emotional regulation
  • Art projects that help children express difficult feelings
  • Conversations that happen while building, drawing, or playing
  • Gentle coaching to help children understand their emotions and choices

Through these moments, children learn important skills that support their growth both inside and outside of the therapy room.

A Space Designed for Children

Our office was intentionally created to feel warm, welcoming, and child-friendly. When families walk through our doors, they quickly notice that this is not a quiet, sterile environment…it’s a lively one!

Our rooms are filled with games, art supplies, and creative tools that help children feel comfortable and engaged. The hallways are often filled with laughter, conversation, and sometimes a little bit of joyful chaos. And of course, there is a very special member of our team: Popsicle, our beloved therapy dog. Popsicle brings calm, comfort, and plenty of smiles to the children and families who visit our office.

We embrace the energy that comes with working with children. Their curiosity, honesty, and creativity bring life to our space every single day.

More Than Therapy: A Community of Support

When families come to Glacier Psychology Services, they are not just receiving therapy sessions. They are joining a community that truly cares about their well-being. We understand that reaching out for help can feel vulnerable. Our goal is to make families feel supported, understood, and welcomed from the moment they arrive. As soon as you walk through our doors, you become part of our extended family.

Supporting Children, Supporting Families

Children do best when the adults around them feel supported as well. That is why we work closely with parents, offering guidance, tools, and insight to help them navigate the challenges that come with raising children.

At Glacier Psychology Services, we believe that when families strengthen their relationships and understanding of one another, children develop the confidence and emotional skills they need to flourish. And while there may be laughter, creativity, and yes—even a little chaos along the way—that is all part of the beautiful work of helping children grow.
